From Mr. Groves:
Congratulations to the Jr girls' basketball team on their two victories yesterday advancing them to ESSOA next Wednesday.  In the first game, the Devils went into half time against ST. Lawrence leading 24-1 because of a very strong relentless defence.  They ended up winning the game 34-14.  Top scorers in that game were Chayce Hyndman with 12 points and Mckenzie Reid-Stevens and Alison Roach both adding 6 points.  In the second game against Glengarry, the Devils continued with their tough defence and were leading at half 39-16.  They finished the game winning 51-24.  Tops scorers in that game were Paige Hannaford with 15 points, Mckenzie Reid-Stevens with 14 points and Chayce Hyndman and Reise Marriner both getting 8 points each.  Excellent work and sportsmanship were displayed by all of the teammates.  A big thank you out to the awesome North Dundas crowd that cheered on the girls during the day.  Your cheers helped motivate the team.  It has been eight years since the last Jr Girls' basketball team won S, D & G.  Wish the girls luck next Wednesday.

From Mr. Wilkes:
"The Senior girls basketball team travelled to Tagwi to take on the #1 seed Tagwi Warriors in the SD&G playoffs yesterday afternoon. The Devils hung tough in the first half with Tagwi, but found themselves down 8 points at halftime. The Devils chipped away at the Warriors lead in the 2nd half and were down 5 after the third quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Devils defence caused numerous Tagwi turnovers and sparked the offence. With 4 mins remaining, the Devils tied the game, however, with two timely 3-pointers in the final 2 minutes, Tagwi was able to hold on for a 40-38 win. Tagwi would go on to lose to Glengarry 34-29 in the final.
Mr. Wilkes would like to congratulate the Senior girls on an excellent season. This was the first season in 8 years that the senior girls have made the playoffs. A special thank you goes out to the grade 12’s who will be moving on – you represented North Dundas with class and have much to be proud of. It was a pleasure coaching you all!"

"Attention Senior Boys: Last call for any senior boys interested in trying out for the senior basketball team this year. See Mr. Wilkes in room 118 or the Phys Ed office to sign up."
